Greg was born in Washington State on April 2, 1946, and passed September 19, 2022, in Oregon. He was 76 years old.
Greg graduated from Heppner High School (class of 1965) – in Heppner, Oregon.
He served in Vietnam from 1965 to 1968 with the United States Army. He was in both the 101st and 82nd Airborne and earned a Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
In 1969, Greg met and married his wife, Beth. They enjoyed 53+ years of marriage. They raised their family from west coast to east coast and back with most years spent in Pendleton, Oregon.
Greg earned college degrees from Oregon College of Education (June 8, 1973), Washington State University (August 15, 1975), and Western Oregon State College (June 11, 1988).
Greg lived life passionately. He enjoyed traveling, RVing, bicycling, antiquing, and planning and completing home improvements. He loved his family, friends, students, pets, and WSU football. Go Cougs!
Greg shared his talents and time through his involvement in various community organizations. He dedicated his career to peace, the law, and his criminal justice students. He worked in law enforcement, as a professor, and as a magistrate judge. He taught at Bluefield State University (WV), Southwestern Oregon Community College, Blue Mountain Community College (OR), University of Massachusetts – Boston, Bethany College (KS), and Western Oregon University.
He would always find time to lend a hand, give a smile, or tell a joke. He loved his family fiercely and he treasured being a husband, dad, and papa.
At his request, no funeral service to be held.
