Glenn LeRoy Sweringen passed away on June 1, 2022 at the age of 94. Glenn was born on January 5, 1928 in Independence, Oregon to Lillie and Frank Sweringen, the youngest of 10 children.
Glenn's education consisted of Independence Grade School, Independence High School, and 6 months of Army Specialized Training at Oregon State College. He served in the Army Air Force from 1945 through 1947. In 1947, Glenn went to work for Pacific Northwest Bell and spent 30 years with them.
In 1951, Glenn and Muriel Ward were married at Buena Vista Methodist Church. They purchased acreage south of Salem, Oregon and built their house to enjoy a great view of the Cascade Mountains. They have one son, Michael, and 3 grandchildren. Glenn loved to hunt and fish and travel by RV, car, airplane, boat and motorcycle. He continued to ride his motorcycle into his 80s.
Glen's faithfulness to family and friends was always unquestionable. He received Jesus as his Savior when he was 93 years old and we are so thankful that he is now enjoying his first days in heaven right now.
