SALEM - Gerald H. Ossenkop, 69 of Salem, Oregon went home to be with his Lord on Monday August 8, 2011. He was born to parents, Howard and Doris Ossenkop in St. Anthony, Idaho. He attended and graduated from Eddyville High School in Eddyville, Nebraska and moved to Oregon in 1960. He married Carolyn Dunham on December 20, 1963 and resided in Salem, Oregon until his passing. In his younger years he loved MOPAR muscle cars and owned several of them. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, raising cattle and gardening. He had a real passion for restoring antique tractors. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends. He owned his own construction business for nearly 30 years before retiring. He will be forever remembered by his wife, Carolyn, daughter Tia, grandchildren Brian and Triell, brother James, sister Martha and countless relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed by all. Memorial Service will be held 12:00pm Friday August 12, 2011 at Faith Lutheran Church in Monmouth with a reception following in the church fellowship hall. Private vault interment will be at English cemetery in Monmouth. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Heart Association in care of Farnstrom Mortuary 410 Monmouth St. Independence, Oregon 97351 who is entrusted with arrangements.
