George William Locke

July 9, 1930 — October 9, 2021

George "Bud" W. Locke passed away on October 9, 2021 in his Monmouth home at the age of 91.  He was born July 9, 1930 in Buena Vista, Oregon to Austin and Nona Locke.
Bud served as a US Navy Ships Serviceman 2nd Class from 1950-1954.  After that, he worked as a millwright with Philomath Forest Products.  He married Joan Kathlyn Matson, and they had four children.
Bud greatly enjoyed being a father and grandfather.  He made sure to make special memories with each and every one of his children and grandchildren, and made the holidays very special.  He was a very hard worker as well.  He enjoyed his gardens in the summer and made sure to take care of the farm as well. He will be greatly missed.
Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Joan.  He is survived by his children, Wayne Sr. of Tenessee; Michael of Washington; Ruth (Jody) of Monmouth; Sarah (Kelly) of Monmouth, grandchildren Wayne Jr. (Kaylen), Kenny (Shanna) and Nicholas; and great-grandchildren Ryder, Keely, Kyann and Lincoln.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 15, 2 pm at Farnstrom Mortuary, followed by burial at Hilltop Cemetery. Share your memories with the family at FarnstromMortuary.com.
