Frances D. Horton

Frances D. Horton of Monmouth, Oregon passed away at her home in Monmouth at the age of 88. Frances was born May 22, 1921 in Ashland, Oregon to CV & Monica Burns Loosley. Raised in Klamath County, Oregon to a pioneer family, graduated from Oregon State University. On June 16, 1943 she married Alan G. Horton and in 1951 they moved to Airlie district and ranched until 1985. She went into the Peace Corps and served in Belize and lived in Tigard from 1988-1998 and returned to Polk County in 1998. Frances was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church in Dallas, Oregon and DAR ~ Chemeketa Chapter in Salem, OR. Survivors include her husband Alan G. Horton of Monmouth, Oregon, Son Chris Joan Horton of Monmouth, daughter Paula Horton of Clackamas, Oregon, 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents CV & Monica Loosley and Sister Carol Kreutzer. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Tuesday, February 2, at 10 am at St. Philips Catholic Church, followed by a memorial mass at 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 2, at St. Philips Catholic Church in Dallas, Oregon.
