Obituary, Ferne E. Kern April 15, 1920 ~ March 29, 2007 Ferne E. Kern of Independence, Oregon. Ferne leaves behind her husband, Clarence E. Kern they were married in 1939. Survivors include daughter Deanna E. Kern of Wilsonville, Oregon, Sons Dennis Marilyn Kern of Albany, Oregon and David A. Kern of Roseburg, Oregon. 5 grandchildren living in Oregon, Idaho and Dover, Delaware. Ferne worked for Independence / Monmouth School systems for many years, and later retired from Western Oregon University. She loved many hobbies especially camping and traveling and she loved crafts. A Memorial Service will be 11:00 am Monday April 2, 2007 at Monmouth Christian Church. Arrangements Entrusted to Farnstrom Mortuary, Independence.
