Salem - Eva, 91, died January 1, 2014, due to cancer. She was born near Scio, OR, on November 11, 1922, to Charles and Henrietta Weinberg, the fourth of eight children. She graduated from Scio High School in 1940. Eva married Lee McIntire on November 27, 1941, in Linn County, OR. Together, they raised two children.
During her life, she was employed as a telephone switchboard operator, retail credit manager, school cook, retail sales clerk, and medical office bookkeeper. All that knew Eva will remember her love of gardening, baking, ballroom dancing, travel, pinochle and BINGO.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lee on April 8, 1994. She is survived by her children Connie and Dennis (Linda), and one brother, Charles H. Weinberg, as well as many nieces and nephews.
At her request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers or donations, we ask that you plant a flower, shrub, or tree in your yard in her memory.
Eva chose many years ago to donate her body to the Oregon Health Sciences University for research and education. It was her hope that more people would benefit through her donation. The family would like to thank Sweet Bye N Bye and Gentiva Hospice for all of their compassionate care over the past 9 months.
