Obituary, Ernest M. Reed April 4, 1923 ~ May 27, 2008 Ernest M. Reed of Independence, Oregon died peacefully at his home in Independence at the age of 88. Ernest was born in Coshocton, Ohio on April 4, 1923 to Ernest W. & Norma Senter Reed. Ernest served his country with the United States Army during WWII. Married Marie Hale on January 12, 1947 in Phoenix, Arizona. Survivors include his wife Marie Reed of Independence, Oregon, Son; Melwood Reed of Dolittle, Missouri, Grandson; Shannon Reed of Salem, Oregon, Great Grandsons; Tad and TJ Reed of Falls City, OR, and Great Grandchildren Auttumn and Logan Reed of Monmouth, Oregon. Visitation will be 4pm to 5pm Tuesday June 3rd at Farnstrom Mortuary, Independence. Private Interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
