In Loving Memory of Elvira Landeros: A Radiant Soul of Love and Laughter
Elvira Landeros, a cherished sister, devoted mother, adoring grandmother, and treasured friend, embarked on her eternal journey to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, August 20th, 2023, in Salem, OR. Born on January 25, 1931, in Los Arcos, Jerez, Zacatecas, she was the first among her siblings, born to the late Secundino and Juana (Trujillo) Landeros. Her legacy of kindness, love, and joyful humor will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Elvira's life was an inspiring tapestry woven with threads of compassion and warmth. In 1978, she embarked on a new chapter, crossing borders to establish herself in Independence, OR. Her unwavering dedication to her family was matched only by her commitment to her community. Affectionately known as Doña Elvira, she became a beacon of support, readily extending a helping hand to friends and neighbors of all ages. Her culinary talents were legendary, with her kitchen a place of magic where the aroma of freshly-made tortillas mingled with hearty meals, and ice-cold Coca-Colas awaited.
When not in her kitchen, she could be found indulging in word searches, nurturing her beloved flowers, or finding solace in the wonders of Animal Planet and America's Funniest Home Videos. Her laughter was infectious, her spirit contagious, and her heart was a wellspring of unconditional love.
Elvira's departure is preceded by her parents, Juana and Secundino, and her siblings, Paola, Agustin, Bernardino, Rafael, Martha “grande”, and Bartolo. She also joins her children Trinidad, Maria de Jesus, Santos, and her grandson Jose “Che-Che” in eternal rest.
She leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories, embraced by her siblings, Juan Landeros, Martha “chica”, and her children Guadalupe, Yolanda, Esther, Fernando, Bertha, Gilberto Jr, Carmen, Genoveva, and Kelse “Rosario”. Her legacy lives on through several generations of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, each a testament to her enduring impact.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Serenity Hospice and the compassionate staff at The Springs Willow Creek for their unwavering care and support during her final days. A Celebration of Life Memorial for Elvira will take place on Friday, August 25th from 4 pm – 8pm at Farnstrom Mortuaries, Independence, OR, where we will honor her remarkable journey. Her final resting place will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens and Mausoleum, Salem, OR a place that will hold her with the same tenderness she bestowed upon those she loved.
As we bid farewell to Elvira, the warmth of her love and the echoes of her laughter remain etched in our hearts. She will be profoundly missed by family and friends alike, a void only matched by the joy of having shared life's journey with her. In her own words, and as she always reminded us, "que dios te bendiga" – may God bless you.
