Elden Ray McKinney
December 6, 1937 - August 4, 2015
MONMOUTH - With family at his side, long time Silverton resident, Elden Ray McKinney lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at his home in Monmouth, Oregon.
Born in Silverton on December 6, 1937 to Azel Glenn McKinney and Sylvia Anna (Dick) McKinney, Elden and twin sister Elma were welcomed by sister Glenva.
Elden attended school in Silverton, later serving in the US Navy from 1959 to 1963. Upon his return to Silverton he had various jobs until finding his career as a finish carpenter.
In 1980 Elden married Virginia "Ginger" Neuling, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his parents.
Elden is survived by: Sisters, Glenva Ann Smith of Monmouth and Elma Fay Pack of Salem; Children, Susan Preston of Idanha, Carrie Thomas of Oregon City, Frank Preston of Salem, Brenda (Scott) Schulte of Hillsboro, Jim (Laurie) Preston of Idanha and Rogue River and daughter-in-law Rita Bilyeu of Silverton; Grandchildren, Corrie, Barbara, Brian, Angel, Danny, Holly, Dean, Kyle, Dillon and Devin; 13 Great-Grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of wonderful friends.
