Eileen Hazel Fleming

December 6, 1942 — March 25, 2010

Eileen Hazel Fleming, 67, a resident of Grand Ronde, passed away on March 25, 2010 at home.
She was born on December 6, 1942, to Raymond and Violet Esther (Dupuy) Sarter in Eugene.
Eileen grew up in Oregon, California, and Nevada, her family following the harvest seasons. She married Clarence "Chuck" Fleming on June 3, 1962 in Yachats, OR, and they continued to follow the harvest for some time. They moved to Oregon in 1963, living in Lincoln County and Grand Ronde.
A homemaker, Eileen was an avid bowler, posting a 202 average at her highest. She also enjoyed fishing, (although she didn't eat her catch), was a crafts person, enjoying embroidery, crocheting, painting, sewing, and always keeping busy. She was a member of the American Legion post 116 in Newport, serving as president of the auxiliary for years. She helped tend bar there, and later was a security guard. She was a good listener, and loved animals, who, in turn, loved her.
Eileen is survived by her husband, Clarence "Chuck" Fleming of Grand Ronde; son Bobb Fleming and his wife Rosie of Grand Ronde; daughter Tina Fleming and her husband Allen Reynoldson of Newport; 15 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on April 10, 2010, at 2:00 pm at the VFW in Willamina, OR.
Memorials may be made to the Oregon Humane Society.
