Dorothy Helen Hill

Dorothy Helen Hill March 21, 1917 ~ February 26, 2009 Dorothy Helen Hill of Dallas, Oregon passed away February 26, 2009 at the age of 91. Born in Glidden, Wisconsin to John Begalke and Augusta Strunk Begalke, Dorothy was the 6th of seven children. She married Robert Clyde Hill on December 23, 1937. To this union was born 2 sets of twins, Wallace and Walter in February 1939 and Jenny and Janice on February 1943. The family moved to Oregon in 1953 and lived in Willamina area until 1977 when Dorothy and Bob moved to Spray, Oregon. They lived there until Bob passed away in 2001. Then Dorothy returned to the valley to be near her children. She lived in the Brooks area until last spring when her health started to fail. She moved to the Dallas Retirement Center where she was cared until her passing. Her husband, Robert, her son, Walter, grandson Peyton Hill and her five sisters preceded Dorothy in death. She is survived by her brother, Elder Begalke of Two Rivers, Wisconsin, children Wallace Betsy Hill and Jenny Merritt Barth of Dallas and Jan Don Griffin of Woodburn. She leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. A graveside service will be 2:30pm Monday March 2, 2009 at Willamina Cemetery, followed by a celebration of life at the Willamina VFW hall. Arrangements Entrusted to Farnstrom Mortuary, Independence.
