Springfield, Ore. - Dorothy Evelyn King was born July 6, 1923 to LeRoy and Bonnie Baker in Cleveland, North Dakota, and passed away on November 14, 2012 at the age of 89 years.
Dorothy graduated from Hood River High School in 1941. She married Rudolph H. King in 1941 in Hood River, Oregon. They had two children.
Dorothy worked for the Eugene School District for 30 years. A member of the Elks and Eagles, she enjoyed dancing, boating and fishing. She was an accomplished N.W. oil painter of nature, and a talented roller skating exhibitionist in her early years. She was active and loved to travel, and will be remembered for her love of the outdoors. As a Christian, God inspired her, and her dream was to live a happy life. She smiled often, and touched everybody she knew with kindness.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Rudolph H. King. She is survived by daughter Carol King (Dave) Hopkins of Redmond, WA; Douglas (Peanny Non) King of Salem, OR; Jeff Burge of Lacey, WA; Ryan, Amanda, Camaron and Maddox King of Eugene, OR.
