David Niles Pulis, 69, of Independence died at home on June 16, 2013.
He was born in Vancouver Washington on December 7, 1943 the fourth child to James and Susie Pulis.
David grew up on a Farm in the Black Hills of South Dakota. He graduated from Rapid City High School in 1961 and went on to Rapid City Teacher's College which apparently wasn't his area of interest because he never finished his degree and went on to do house building and maintenance which is something him and his father and brothers all had a knack for.
After meeting his Soul Mate of 36 years in 1977, Dave decided on his true Occupational Passion which was Excavation in 1978 and started his own Company that he and Karen ran from home after they got married. They named it Triple D' Excavating which stood for Ditch Digger Dave.
Dave did all the Regular Work and Karen did all of the Administrative and Bookkeeping. He loved his work and only closed his business after 32 years when he got sick in 2010 and was forced to retire due to his health.
To know Dave, was to know a wonderful man who's Family, Company and Faith in God meant more to him than anything else in the world.
Every person who came into his life was genuinely touched by knowing him. He was a hard working, gentle soul who always saw the best in people.
Preceding him in Death are his Father James Pulis who died in 1981, his Mother Susie Pulis who died in 1991 and his Sister Barbara Zummallen who died in 2010.
Survivors in his immediate family include his Wife Karen of Independence, his Daughter and Son-in-Law Rachelle and Jim Ball of Monmouth and his Granddaughter and Step Grandson Menolly and Caleb Ball of Monmouth Oregon.
His Surviving Siblings are his Stepsister Dorothy Langerman of Mesa Arizona, his Brother Durwood "Woody" Pulis of Rapid City South Dakota, Brother Raymond Pulis of Box Elder South Dakota, Brother Gene Pulis of Chiloquin Oregon and Sister Linda Clapper of DeForest Wisconsin.
