Obituary, David Russell Leighty December 12, 1984 ~ August 29, 2008 David Russell Leighty of Independence, Oregon was taken from us on Friday morning August 29, 2008 at the age of 23. David was the son of Russell and Terri Leighty and brother to Kevin and Stephanie Leighty. David was born in Salem, Oregon on December 12, 1984. He was a proud father to his beautiful daughter Tera and a loving husband to his wife Bethany. David's charisma and sincere charm partnered with a keen sense of humor earned him many friends who will miss him dearly. David understood the value of strong family ties and always worked to show his loyalty and care for the loved ones that surrounded him. He is survived by his parents Russell and Terri Leighty, his brother and sister Kevin and Stephanie Leighty, Bethany Leighty is wife, his daughter Tera Leighty, his grandparents Bruce and Fern Bice, along with family and friends who cared for him deeply. David you were truly loved by all and will be forever present in our hearts. A celebration of David's life will be held 11:00am, Wednesday September 3rd at Monmouth Christian Church 959 W. Church Street, Monmouth, Oregon. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens in West Salem. All who knew and loved Dave are welcomes. Casual attire is requested.
