Craig Cowles of Independence, OR passed away at his home on Dec. 18, 2018 at the age of 86. He was born in Portland, OR on June 23, 1932. His parents were Earl Cowles and Evelyn Harris Cowles. He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Eleanor Larson Cowles. He also leaves three sons, Dan, Jon, and Tim. Dan, of Plano, Texas, is married to Keiko, and they have a son, Yuichi Cowles. Jon and Tim are of Independence and Beaverton, OR.
Craig served in the army during the Korean War, working in various capacities in this country. Craig attended LeTourneau University and graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. He later obtained a Master’s in business while working in Portland, OR. He worked for various companies in manufacturing engineering. His hobbies were ham radio, and finally flying and building airplanes.
Burial was at Willamette National Cemetery on December 26. A memorial service will be held at Faith Evangelical Free Church, 2290 East Ellendale Ave, Dallas on Jan. 3 at 1:00 P.M. Farnstrom Mortuary is caring for the family.
