Clayton Donald Powell of Rickreall, Oregon died July 16, 2005 at the age of 81. Clayton was born in Opportunity, Nebraska on November 19, 1923 to Bert and Renah Fowler Powell. Graduated from Corvallis High School class of 1942. Entered the Army Air Corps in 1944 served 28 years in United States Air Force retired as a Lt. Colonel, his first aircraft was the WWII bomber the B-25. His last aircraft was the B-52 bomber used in the Cold War and still today. He had a fifteen year second career as a community bank V.P. and Manager in Las Vegas, Nevada. His marriage to Helen lasted 57 years until her death in 2002. At that time he returned to Oregon to live with his son surviving and to enjoy their pastoral setting and splendid view of the Willamette valley on the west slope of the Eola Hills. USAF from 1944-1972 Married Helen Krueger Dec. 21, 1944 she passed away in 2002 Clayton was a member of the Christ Church Episcopal in Las Vegas, Nevada.
