Charles "Chuck" Boeder
June 20, 1937 - October 25, 2013
Charles W. Boeder, 76, of Millersburg went to be with the Lord on October 25, 2013. Charles was born to Hans W. Boeder and Esther M. (Blakeslee) Boeder on June 20, 1937 in Dallas, OR.
He graduated from Perrydale High School in 1955 and went on to attend Oregon State University. While attending Oregon State University he joined the Army Reserves, where he served the next 6 years as 1st Sergeant Drill Instructor.
On May 14, 1960 Charles married the love of his life, Mary J. Gift at the Evangelic Church in Dallas, OR. They settled in Millersburg, Oregon to raise their 3 sons Paul, John, and Tracy, and daughter Theresa.
He worked at the Sunnybrook Dairy for a few years before becoming a small business owner. He owned and operated a vending machine business stocking Tom's Toasted Peanuts throughout the mid-valley and coastal regions. He and Mary later opened "Family Fun Rec Center" in Independence, OR while also owning and operating Revival Carpet Cleaning. After selling Revival Carpet Cleaning to retire, he and Mary worked part time for AC Neilson/Crossmark. He served as the president for the Albany Fitwalkers Club. Charles also was an active member of the Millersburg community and served on the Budget Committee for many years.
He was a member of 1st Church of God in Albany, OR and had many close friends there.
Charles was a compassionate and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He took great pride in his family. He loved family gatherings, watching his grandchildren play sports, camping, and fishing. Charles was a man of faith and loved to serve the Lord. He will be remembered by his family for his unconditional love and support, the "three taps for I love you", and his heart of gold.
Charles is survived by his wife, Mary Boeder of 53 years; Sister, Hilde Zahm of Mesa, AZ; Brother-in-Christ, Ray Warren of Millersburg; sons, Paul and wife Debbie of McMinnville, John and wife Fran of Millersburg, Tracy and wife Christy of Millersburg; daughter, Theresa of Miles City, MT; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
