Carol V. Cable

Carol V. Cable, age 80, died unexpectedly February 17, 2015.
Monmouth - Carol was the son of Clark and Mabel Cable. He was born and raised in the Pendleton area and graduated from high school in Helix, Oregon. He attended Linfield College and was a graduate of Eastern Oregon College. Carol was married to Donna Snow in Pendleton in 1956. He was a cowboy, ranch hand, teacher and coach when they started their family in the Helix and LaGrande areas. In 1965 Carol took a job as a teacher and assistant basketball coach at Central High School, Independence, Oregon. He later became the head coach and vice principal. In 1974 Carol left Central to start his real estate career. He was owner broker of C Cable Realty in Independence, OR until his retirement in 2002. Carol spent his retirement doing the things he loved most of all. Team roping, operating his farm, attending his grandchildrens' activities and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Carol was preceded in death by his parents Clark Cable and Mabel (Cable) McLaughlin and brother Keith Cable. He is survived by his wife Donna, sons Timm (Lori), Terry (Lesli), daughters Tawnni (Brooks Farnworth) and Tanna (Mark Girod), grandchildren Franki Cable, Emma Girod, Kevin Cable, Zoe Farnworth, Will & Jesse Cable and Justin & Jason Girod and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 28 at 2:30 pm at the Central High School gym, Independence, OR. Contributions in honor of Carol can be made to Central High School Athletics, Central Youth Sports or Central Lions Club. Arrangements are being handled by Farnstroms Mortuary.
