Carol Jean Agard, 58 of Albany, Oregon passed away on Thursday December 25th after a short battle with cancer. Carol was born in Salem, Oregon to John and Donna Vanderfeen Agard Jr. She lived in numerous cities over the years and most recently moved to Albany, Oregon from Sundance, Wyoming. Carol graduated from Thurston High School in Springfield, Oregon in 1969; she graduated from University of Oregon with a bachelors of Science degree in Anthropology in 1974 and received her master's degree from Oregon College of Education WOU in Monmouth, Oregon. She worked for the US Forest Service as an archeologist for the past 24 years, most recently in Sundance, Wyoming. Carol was an avid quilter and loved watching the jewelry channel on television and buying and giving gems to her family and friends. Carol was preceded in death by her parents John and Donna Agard. She is survived by her sister Kathy Agard of Albany, sister and brother in law Karen and Ron Wiard of Albany and brother and sister in law John and Carol Anne Agard of Monmouth. A niece Traci Elliott of Monmouth, nephews Matt Agard and John McLain of Salem, Oregon. 3 great nephews, 2 great nieces and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A Celebration of Life will be on Friday Jan. 2, 2009 at 2:00pm at Farnstrom Mortuary in Independence, Oregon. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
