Carlyle "Carl" Edward Kanode

Carlyle "Carl" Edward Kanode passed away peacefully in his sleep early on Saturday morning, November 26, 2022 at the age of 88, in the house he built nearly 50 years ago. Carl was born on March 10, 1934 in Salem, Oregon to John O. Kanode and Helen M. Stouder.

Carl graduated from Waldport High School in 1953 and has an Associates Degree from the collage in Klamath Falls. He worked for more than 40 years for Boisie Cascade Lumber Mill.

Carl was preceded in death by his first wife, Vivian Brittan in 1999, his son Douglas Kanode in 2018, one grandson Doug Jr. in 1982 and one step-son Donald L. Brooks in August 2022. He is survived by his wife, Helen French, daughter April Kanode, grandchildren John, Rachel, Brian and Kayla, and 4 step-children, David, Dale, Doreen and Darrin Brooks, and 13 step-grandchildren.

Carl's life will be celebrated at a gathering on Sunday, December 4 from 3 - 5 pm at the family home in Monmouth.
