Cam’s Story
Cam was born just 31 short years ago on June 16, 1987 in Raleigh, NC, but spent most of his youth in Hillsboro, OR and adult life in Monmouth/Independence, OR. He moved to Oregon in 1997 and attended Glencoe High School and graduated in 2005. He then went to Monmouth, OR to attend Western Oregon University and graduated in 2011 with a BS degree in Business. It is here, were Cam met his lifelong friends and, more importantly, the LOVE of his life, Stephanie Rardin. There’s no other way to describe it, but, love at first sight. Cam adored Stephanie and she was quick to share with her parents and brother that this man was “the ONE!”
They dated throughout college. Their romance grew and after Cam asked Stephanie’s Dad AND Brother for permission to make him the happiest man on the planet; he surprised her with the BIG Question on a Johnson family trip to Charleston, South Carolina in the spring of 2011.
They were later married on November 11, 2011. Yes, 11-11-11. They had often made note of the time 11:11 that appeared on clocks as a MAKE A WISH moment. As you may not know, 11:11 is a number sign that angelic beings are close by. So, when you see 11:11, trust that it’s an angel’s message for you to decode, from Cam. Seems fitting that 11:11 will now ALWAYS be a message from Cam, truly an angel in so many ways.
Cam and Stephanie later brought Jameson Carter Johnson into the world on March 30, 2015. And what a complete joy this addition brought to the family. While Cam only got 3+ years with this “mini me” version of himself; there have been countless amazing moments that will be remembered by everyone that has witnessed this incredible legacy grow up. Jameson will forever be reminded of the love that his Dad had for him and reminded of how his Daddy in Heaven will guide him with his loving hands thru life.
Cam was an awesome faithful husband, father, son, brother and friend to everyone that met him. His passion for those with special needs, led him to a career in helping improve the lives of those that faced challenges. Seems a perfect match with someone with such a MASSIVE heart.
Cam had a love for sports. He was passionate about his Seahawks, Beavers, Blazers and Tar Heels. As you watch these teams; know that Cam is watching these with you too...
Cam had a beautiful smile and amazing laugh. He was not bashful about telling you that he LOVED YOU and HUGGING you with a massive BEAR HUG. His arms were comforting and a safe place.
Cam had numerous health issues throughout his teenage and adult life. He was a fighter and determined to be healthy and seemed to only be concerned with how everyone else was doing. Cam lost the battle with Pancreatitis; which came on abruptly. He battled valiantly to the end.
He’s with God now, pain free and with his new body and working under the engine of a new sports car with a Blazer, Beaver, Seahawk or Tar Heels game blaring in the background. Looking down at all his loved ones with that infectious smile and blue eyes that glimmer and saying “I love you ALL”…
