Bryan Jay Creecy, 78, of Albany Oregon, passed away on March 11, 2024, at his home with his wife by his side.
Bryan was born September 19, 1946, to Ed and Carmen Creecy in Salem, OR. His family later relocated to Tillamook, OR, where Bryan graduated from Tillamook high school in 1963. He went on to join the Navy in 1963 as a seaman, served in the Vietnam war on the USS Chemung and received an honorary discharge in 1966. During his service Bryan received the Armed Forces Expeditionary medal, Vietnam Service medal, and National Defense medal.
Upon discharged from the navy Bryan attended Linn-Benton Community College where he got an associate degree to be an electrician. He worked for Duraflake in Albany, OR for 42 years as an electrician.
In 1966, Bryan met Faye Creecy in Salem, OR. They were married in 1967 and moved to Albany OR to raise their children Robin, Brenda, and Jill.
Bryan was known as a family man and happily supported all his children and grandchildren in all their endeavors and was quick to lend a helping hand whenever needed. Bryan loved all sports, especially golf where he frequently played with family and friends at the golf courses. Bryan was also a longtime Oregon State University fan and watched multiple sport events in person or on tv. He also was a diehard Central High School fan and went to many games to cheer them on with his pal and brother-in-law Dale Hedrick. Bryan will be forever known as someone who was ready and willing to help others, always thinking of others before himself. He always picked up the check and remembered to send cards to all his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews whenever they celebrated any event in their life. His loyalty to his family was unparallelled and he always made sure they knew he was thinking of them and their special events. He was known in the neighborhood as the man who would extend help to anyone and took remarkable care of a neighbor after her husband died, by helping her maintain her house. Bryan was a volunteer along with his wife Faye for many years and together they helped build Christmas Storybook Land to the great success it is today. Bryan and Faye built a strong family foundation full of love and family events that brought together anyone and everyone where Bryan (BBQ Man) shared laughter, love, and wisdom to all those he encountered.
