SPRINGFIELD - Betty Jean Ellis, 73 died on June 29, 2015 at Gateway Living in Springfield, OR. She was born to Houston A. Ward Jr "Cubby" and Mary Marie (Bearden) Ward on December 20, 1941 at Rocky Point, OK. She grew up in Lincoln County. She put a majority of her life with her husband William and Daughters Barbara and Karen in New Jersey. She was also a resident of Marion County for a number of years. Betty and Bill later divorced. She also had another daughter that she never met named Laurie. She enjoyed playing guitar and other music, Arts and Crafts, Singing, and enjoyed homemaking. She would've done anything to help others. She survived by her daughters Barbara (Craig) Millman of Chesterbrook, PA, Karen of Sewell, NJ, Brother William "Bill"(Mona) Ward of Kingston, OK, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Father Houston "Cubby" Ward Jr., Mother Mary Marie (Bearden) Ward, Brothers Darrell Junior Ward and Harold Dean Ward, and Sisters Oteka Ward Harris and Francis Paulette Baker.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 6, 6 pm at the Toledo Church of Christ, 1885 NE Highway 20, Toledo, Oregon. Farnstrom Mortuary in Independence, OR is handling the arrangements. Share your memories at FarnstromMortuary.com.
