SALEM ~ Betty Barry ( mother of Timothy Barry, Director of YMCA in Monmouth/Independence) was born on November 1, 1929 in Flushing Queens, NY; where she resided until the age of 11. Betty's family included father Walter Schullstrom Senior, mother Natalie and brother Walter Junior.
In 1941 Betty's family relocated to San Diego, California, where Betty resided until she graduated from High School. After her graduation, Betty attended a boarding school for 2 years called Dominican Catholic College in San Raffael, California.
On August 5, 1961 Betty married Joe Barry who worked in movies, television and opera in the Los Angeles area. Joe died at the age of 50 in 1974.
Joe and Betty had four children, Michael Joseph, Kathleen Ann, Kevin Thomas and Timothy Patrick, all of which are surviving the death of their mother Betty Ann Barry, as well as 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9am to 4pm Monday September 27, 2010 at Farnstrom Mortuary. Celebration of Life will be also held at 12pm Monday September 27th at Calvary Chapel in Independence.
