Born in Dallas, Oregon to Frank Golden and Lena Krisher Coon.

Barbara graduated in the first class from the combined Monmouth/Independence, OR Central High school, in 1952.

Barbara married Edward T. Lofting on December 13, 1952 in Independence, OR and welcomed their first child exactly nine months and one day after they were married. Ed remained the love of her life for 52 years until he passed. Barbara and Ed moved their family to Madras in 1965 where Mr. Lofting was a teacher in Culver and Redmond and Barbara was a stay at home mom to their six kids. She was a wonderful home maker and especially loved baking.

Barbara enjoyed talking with friends and family and watching TV. Her main focus was family. She thrived on raising her six children and was very active and supported her 9 grandchildren through school and especially sports events. Barbara's 3 great-grandchildren were the light of her life the past 2-1/2 years.

Preceded in death by her parents & husband, Barbara is survived by her brother Dallas of Bend and sister Pam of Eugene; children Douglas & Kriste Lofting of Madras, Deborah & Wayne Britton of Snohomish, WA, Diane Lofting of Madras, Frank & Sharon Lofting of Portland, Brandon & Michele of San Jose, CA and Michael & Kim Lofting of Culver. Grandchildren Ashlyn & Paul Etter, Rachel & Wilfred Sando, Carly Lofting, Scott Britton, Haven Britton, Tyler D. Lofting, Spencer Edward Lofting, Justine Lofting and Zachary Lofting. Great grandchildren Brock Douglas Etter, Maylie Brynn Sando & Jayson Wayne Britton.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, August 12 at 4PM at Bel-Air Funeral Home in Madras, OR and Saturday, August 13 at 11AM at Farnstrom Mortuary in Independence, Or with interment at Hilltop Cemetery in Independence.
