Anthony Wayne "Tony" Monachino
September 1, 1933 - April 4, 2013
Dallas - Home Birth on September 1, 1933 in Cleveland, Ohio to Samuel and Josephine Monachino. Home passage April 4, 2013 in Dallas, Oregon with his loving family present.
Tony was relocated along with his parents, brother James, and sister Jeannie to Westchester, California in 1945.
He graduated from Westchester High School and attended night classes to receive an AS degree. He enlisted into the Navy in 1951 - 55 and discharged as an E2 receiving a National Defense Service Medal, serving in the Korean War on an Aircraft Carrier, during which he meet Theresa Joya Lepore, through meddling mothers and a Tupperware party. They married on November 25, 1955. Married 58 years they have four children: Lori (RJ) Bates; Kathleen (Bruce) Marshall; Teresa (Jim) Thomas; and Anthony (Vanessa) Monachino.
Tony was employed as a supervisor at General Motors in South Gate, California, traveled with Ecklund training, before moving to Dallas in 1973 and being employed at Towmotor/Caterpillar as a purchasing agent for 18 years retiring upon plant closure in Oregon.
Tony kept the bacon coming by starting his own business out of the house called T&M Electronics in which he installed alarm systems for both commercial and residential clients.
His loves and hobbies were: Chef and master cook preparing meals for family and friends. Our Dad loved his children offering help whenever he could. He loved his dogs, cars/car shows/cameras, and home beautification. He lent his talents and skills to help many people. Dad was a jack of all trades...
He was member of the Order Sons of Italy Salem, Oregon, Saint Phillips Catholic Church, Elks Lodge of Independence, Oregon, and Crown Victoria Association...
Tony is survived by his loving wife Theresa, daughters Lori, Kathleen, Teresa, son Anthony. Grandchildren: Tyler Burgett (Alisha); Julian Trowbridge; Jamie Tuck (Daniel); Jeffery Christian; Nick Thomas (Noelle); Sarah McConville (Patrick); Dominic; Jessica; and Brock Monachino. Great grandchildren: Maxxon Burgett; Parker Tuck; Shane Thomas; Alexa Thomas; Olivia McConville; and baby Tuck on the way in November 2013.
Services will be 11:00 AM on Saturday April 13, 2013 at Saint Phillips Catholic Church, 825 Southeast Mill St., Dallas, Oregon. Farnstrom Mortuary is handling arrangements. Photos, memories and condolences at
