Alvin M. Troub

February 1, 1988 — November 18, 2008

Alvin Mathew Troub, in an act of selflessness and bravery, gave his life as he tried to save the life of his brother Michael on November 18, 2008 in the icy waters of the Willamette River. Alvin, who recently rediscovered God, was baptized only a week ago as he prepared his body and soul to join the Army and serve his country. His passion to join and serve with his fellow Americans to defend this country consumed his daily thoughts. He had prepared himself with the knowledge that by joining the Army there was a chance that he might not return and he was at peace with that. The ultimate sacrifice a soldier can make for his country is to lay down his life. Alvin's ultimate sacrifice for his family was to lay down his life for his brother. Alvin joins his Grandmother Kathryn Vibbard, who he had a close religious tie to, his Grandfather Raymon Runyon and little brother Michael in Heaven. Alvin is loved and missed by his devoted mother Mary Troub, sister Angel Nicole Troub, and her boyfriend Robert Burrows, Step-Father Chuck Ferris, Father Alvin L. Troub, brother Jesse Troub, Grandfathers Archie "Papa" Vibbard, Frank Junior Troub, Grandmother Grace Troub, Aunts Laurie Runyon, Kathy Cherry, Rose Troub, Lisa Troub, Angel Troub, Cindy Troub, Uncles Terry Runyon and Michael Runyon, Frank Troub, Jeff Troub, Mike Troub & Joe Troub. Cousins Desiree Yingling, Linda Boswell, Johnny Coe, Prescott Coe, Autumn Coe, Summer Runyon, Serene Runyon, Kailan Bowen, Aidan Sears, Maddox Burrows, Arianna Amaya as well as many other loving family members in Washington, Arizona and Pennyslvania. Alvin, our family hero, along with his brother Michael has joined their Grandmother Kathryn in rest at the Taft Pioneer Cemetery in Lincoln City, Oregon. As a way to honor Alvin the family ask for you to continue to support the men and women of the United States Armed Forces who which he was committed to join.
